Since opening in November of 2003, Destin Commons has been honored with a host of awards and achievements. The center has solidified its position as the cornerstone of area shopping for locals and tourists, along with earning recognition of being a valuable business partner. Destin Commons has supported numerous non-profit organizations in the region, including American Cancer Society, Ronald McDonald House, American Heart Association, and Toys For Tots. Destin Commons has also been instrumental in launching and sustaining several arts foundations—Sinfonia Gulf Coast and Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation. Both organizations strive to bring the arts, and art appreciation, to Northwest Florida.

Emerald Coast Magazine’s annual “Best Of The Emerald Coast” announcements are eagerly anticipated by business owners every year. Destin Commons was named “Best Shopping” destination for five years running. Destin Commons has also been hailed as “Best Community Business Partner” and “Best Place To Take The Kids”. Over 14 Destin Commons stores and restaurants have also been recognized in past polls, making it the destination with the most winners in one location. In addition, Destin Commons has been the coveted host site for the “Best Of The Emerald Coast” event, for the past two years. This event draws thousands of people from Northwest Florida and showcases the finest establishments the region has to offer.

An array of additional business organizations have also recognized Destin Commons for its exceptional contributions to the local economy. The Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce recognized Destin Commons for exemplifying an overall improvement to the greater Fort Walton Beach area. The Florida Public Relations Association has bestowed several Image Awards.
